Atrium . Print

I love walking and sketching around Athens when I get some free time. On one of my walks last year, I came across this unassuming building on Kolokotroni Street. I must admit that it was a beautiful structure on the outside but one of many that dot this historic area of Athens. To my surprise I discovered it had an atrium! My curiosity got the better of me and I started to climb the interior marble staircase. On my way to the top I found that each floor had a small number of mint green doorways that led to small office spaces. Inside, were lawyers, tailors and accountants who were busy with their daily work.  Just as they were, I imagine, fifty or sixty years ago, when this gem was first erected.
